POROSHA® is the story of Katya, a young Jewish girl orphaned in the brutality of the Odessa Pogroms of 1905 who sets on a journey with her family domovoi (house spirit) to seek the help of the legendary sorcerer Koschei the Deathless, in order to reunite with relatives halfway across the world.
Inspired loosely by the journeys of my own great-grandparents, Porosha® is a passion project of mine, aimed at retelling my favorite fairy tales juxtaposed with the complex cultural histories of people no longer living to tell their stories.
